Okay, first off.

I was being cheap and bought an HD3450. But then i found an hd3870 and bought it. Now my question is, can an HD3450 play WoW with reasonable FPS @ a nice setting? My friend is looking to buy the card and is now a WoW fanatic.

His system (i bought and paid for)

E2140
2gig ram pc-6400
Asus P5K

he has a decent system, just wondering on FPS with a hd3450. If it isn't worth it for him, then im not going to sell it. I will just make an HTPC for myself.

Anything can really play WoW.
Although he may have trouble when in a heavy raid. (level 70 stuff)

well hes got a good cpu and 2 gigs of ram which is important in wow i would think that video card could play wow at all medium-high settings at like 1280/1024 and get decent frames

I've seen onboard video on my friend's 3 year old laptop run WOW. It was on the very bottom of settings, but it worked.

If Intel graphics can run WoW, I think a HD3450 would have no problem running it too. :)

I agree. I got the chance to see Intel graphics do the job when my friend had only his laptop while he was saving for a new PC and had nothing else to play WOW with. He was pissed he couldn't raise the settings from low, but he should of just been glad it worked in the first place.

haha alright. I will give him a deal on it then. Thanks guys :)

lol I could run it on a TNT 2 32 meg, but to awnser your question I think he will be happy with the upgrade depending on what he currently has

You're a very nice friend for paying for that stuff for him. Wish I had friends like that...

1920x1080 on a 42" westy, 9800pro 128mb, Barton 2500, 1gb 3200 and wow runs decent enough at all low settings.

Its a weird story, he is in his 50's and has a few disorders that hinder him from having a job. He is Bipolar and get's $50 a week to live. His family left him to enjoy California life (we are located in upstate, NY). So i help him as much as I can. Its extremely satisfying to know i can help somebody out that needs it. He hates accepting free PC parts, and was shocked that i told him i would order a whole PC for him and do payments. Not to accept 1 payment, i just gave him everything. He never takes it for granted and would do the same for me if it was the other way around.

Anyways, the graphics card works wonders, he is getting MAX of 57FPS and i think a low of 40's.
