i have a gateway hd2200 22'' monitor, and after installing the new nvidia drivers the other day, the monitor was no longer recognized as a hd2200, and now its seen as a 'non PnP display'
the max resolution was not in display properties. it went up to 1600x1200, but that is the wrong ratio. I set a custom resolution of 1650x1080 which is what is should be normally. Everything is fine now, but in games, the right resolution is not recognized.
i tried reinstalling the monitor driver, windows restoring to before the nvidia update, and restoring again...

can anyone help please?

thx

edit: also, would you think the problem would be resolved if i freshly installed vista on another hard drive? i was going to do that anyway

Try downloading a newer monitor driver. Or install older nVidia driver. Or even better go for XP ;)

the monitor driver doesnt work with nvidia drivers
vista's not that bad anyway

OK, let's not start another Vista bashing-defending discussion :)

Anyway, that's strange, the monitor driver shlould not interfere with nVidia panel, the OS should ensure the working of both.

ok, so i reinstalled vista, 64-bit this time... but the monitor is still seen as non-PnP.. installed old nvidia forceware drivers, no luck :(
how can i get the monitor to be recognized as a Gateway HD2200? Right now i set a custom rez, so its fine for everything except games, which only see the wrong resolutions up to 1600x1200

the monitor driver is something called EZtune, and it doesnt work with nvidia drivers, proven by some of the reviews here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...edRating=-1&PurchaseMark=&VideoOnlyMark=False

plz help, thx
