Ok, this is not for a PC, so please mods move this to the appropriate forum if this shouldn't be in gen. hardware and sorry for the inconvenience, I figured this best fit here.

Anyways, my parents have a very old TV and with the whole digital upgrade and everything I decided it was time to upgrade their TV as well. The old TV is a 40-some year old, 27-inch RCA in wooden cabinet so I'm going with a 32 inch LCD. They already have a Tivo (gen 1) so I'm trying to keep that as I don't want to shock them too much with new devices... you know how parents get with new tech...

Anyways, seeing as I am in college I'm trying to keep this down to a reasonable budget, hopefully no more than $600 but I'm hoping for a little less of course. I'm looking at a refurbished Vizio 32" and an upconverting DVD player. I also would love to somehow integrate my old OTA antenna into the system so they can get some local HD.

So... my question basically is what options do I have to integrate the OTA into system. Obviously if I had a series 3 Tivo I could put both the antenna and cable into the system but I don't have the money for that. Is there another way, such as either combining 2 coax into 1 via reverse splitter or with some other receiver, to integrate the antenna source into the Tivo or TV guides?

Thanks for the help!

Black Friday sale at Walmart has a 42" Polaroid 1080P LCD TV for $598. Best bang for the buck I've seen in years. Camp out in front of Walmart or get there when it opens Friday.
You can switch input connectors with the remote for different sources. Component for Tivo antenna to the tuner in the TV. Think about how you would configure the system as you know it best.
