HD temp @ 65C, is this normal?

it get's up to 60-62 when the comp is idle and around 65-66 @ load.
It's a Maxtor 200GB HD inside a sony monitor. I even have the case off of the comp and still that temp. My other temps like the processor, a P4 3.0 is around 50C so I couldn't believe a HD can have a higher temp then my processor.

Any ideas why this is? or how I can trouble shoot it?
I'm using SpeedFan 4.20 to check all my temps.
 
You're asking for reduced reliability/time before a failure if you're constantly running your drive at that temp. Is there any airflow at all over the drive, and if not, can you move it in your case to somewhere where you will? If not, consider getting an enclosure w/ some sort of fan for the drive to live in a 5 1/4" bay, well that is, if you want your investment to last!
 
good info. But I also want to know if this is normal or if I should turn in it for repair since it is under warranty. This just doesn't seem like your average temp for an HD to me so that's why I wanted some feedback on it.
