Hey guys, I have a sony cm5 bloggie hd camcorder (1080p) and I want to connect to my dell xps m1530 as a webcam for live streaming!

Would this work?:

if I had a hdmi cable output from my sony bloggie cam to a 1394 firewire port on my dell xps m1530, would most capturing programs on windows 7 register that?

The two ports (HDMI and FireWire 400/IEEE 1394a) are incompatible with each other. You'll probably have to use USB (which the Bloggie appears to have) in order to stream.

It has a usb and when I plug it in its like a temp added hard drive only with the movie and picture files.. i am clueless where to even find a way for my computer ina capture program like nsvtools nothing..oh well
