HD question

Ok, i just bought a Compaq Presario 1700T with no HD or PS. I had previously ordered a hd that was specified to fit. Im a little skeptic, it doesn't look like all the pins in the HD would fit when in the HD caddy. theres a little section of like 6 pins that aren't able to connect and are being cutoff by the caddy? Should i be worried that when i turn it on it'll do somethin weired. I ordered the Power supply today and it should be here Tuesday.

I think I've seen that before. I could be wrong, but those pins may be for Master, Slave and Cable Select. Yes, I know it's a laptop hard drive, but I do think I remember there being pins that aren't really used.
