So I'm trying to format my hard drive for a fresh install but I can't unless I have another drive do it. I can't do it on my mom's computer because the technology is too old so i had a spare drive i put ubuntu on a while back sitting around. I plugged that in and I was going to go onto ubuntu (to format the vista drive) but when I tried it gave me an error about reinserting a disk and pressing enter. So then I thought to myself I'll format the ubuntu drive. (so ill just put vista on that and make the big hd my main drive). so when I go into vista it downloads the drivers for the drive but the drive is not under 'my computer' so that i can click to format it! Any suggestion of to what I should do?
