I'm going to replace the Power and HD Led's on my case. I was wondering if I need to use a resistor? I don't know the voltage coming off the motherboard.

nope

i used regular 3.5v LED and works fine..

I used blue ones.

but i think red takes up a little more voltage

I have a chemning case (with the crappy door) -it broke off with some dumb ass was moving my computer at a lan party.. that dumb ass = me. anyways, i pulled the green and orange leds out and stuck a red and blue one in.. looks nice with my blue case and red cathodes... yes. 3.5v

where did u guys get ur LED's? i saw some at frys but the blue ones i wanted were like $2.50, i thought that was a little high just for a tiny little LED

for the high-intensity blue LED's, expect to pay as much as $5 per, depending on the intensity. i got some at radio shack for not too much.

... Wow. That makes me loose all faith in the human race. Anyway, the headers off the mobo are generally anywhere from 1.5-3v, so you'll be fine with pretty much anything you can buy. Check out e-bay, they have deals sometimes on lots of LEDs.

that's wat i call no patience at all...

u'd pay 3 more dollars for 1 LED when u can wait a week for 8 leds for 2/3 of the price of 1 LED from ratshack?

all of these places do not cater to someone who wants 1 led, they cater to people ordering 20+ wherer the shipping becomes negligible. i would email the guys at www.lsdiodes.com and see if they would just drop one in an envelope for you. Also the ones from there are brighter than most one you get a rat shack.

I bought 20 white 10000mcd LED's off eBay the other day. Oh the possibilities:D BTW shipping was free from factory and it only cost like 8 bucks.
