HD Playback Issue

Yeah, I was trying to get him to admit to it rather than accuse him of it, but I guess it makes no difference in the end ;)

Got it working. Uninstalled all the codecs and players. Got rid of the DivX player and codec that was installed, along with CCCP. Reinstalled MPC-HC from the russian text link posted two pages back and everything syncs up perfectly. Just a conflict between multiple codecs or software not properly setup.

The reason I really despise the MKV container is at first the files I had would never play on my Xbox 360, which is what I initially used as a "HTPC." Now that I've decided to build an actual HTPC I've got the software and hardware to support it. Just too bad I have all these ripped DVDs in an AVI format because my Xbox couldn't read anything but that.

I looked at it, but immediately clicked on the owl or w/e it was and then was instantly confused at what I was supposed to be looking at.

And to be honest it doesn't matter where it came from. It could of came from a torrent or it could of came from my 1212.

I thank you for your help though, again. I can always count on someone on these forums. :)
 
haha. this was a good read. MKV is the superior format.

Lying about encoding it yourself was a good one too. I mean, if you knew how to use handbrake, you would know a bit more about mkv.
