HD not showing up

Hey, I have a Mac Formatted Maxtor 250GB HD. I plugged it in, it spins up, shown in Device manager but does NOT appear in MY computer, I would really like to get the data off, or at least get it to show up. What should I do? And what jumper should it be on?
 
Um, if it was formatted on a mac chances are it's with a file system that windows does not support natively. You're going to have to find out what FS and then find some third party software that will read it for you.
 
Hmm, I am not exactly sure what to do!!! It shows up in BIOS though. But thanks for sig point #2, got my Seagate drive working, didn't work for this maxtor though.
 
I told you what you needed to do.

To edit that a touch, you're going to have to find out what FS the mac formatted it as the first time
 
Oh, I know what File System mac is formatted to. Mac HDs are formatted for HFS+.
 
Well, windows can't read that natively. SO you *need* a third party app or you need to plug it back into a system that can read it and get your data

That or backing the info up to dvd's or something else on a mac system is one other option. But if you want your computer to read the HD, i believe the method mentioned above is about the only choice.
 
I did the free trial and it worked like a charm. Got all the stuff, now it is formatted as NTFS.
