HDHomeRun® - PRIME™ Quick status update...
We are at CableLabs® for the final review, with release to production in 2 weeks. Pre-order and release dates will be announced shortly following release to production.
On the availability side we are working with major retail partners to stock the HDHomeRun PRIME and accept pre-orders. The price has been confirmed at $249.
Black Friday - We have been working with the good people at Newegg for a great Black Friday deal on the original HDHomeRun-Dual ATSC/clear QAM tuner. The sale runs Friday November 26 continuing through to Cyber Monday.
CES - everything is in place for a great CES 2011 in Las Vegas January 6-9 - We will be on the floor in the South Hall 3, upper level, booth 31948.

Release to production is the key milestone for us and we have been working hard to make it happen. We will keep you posted.

Happy holidays,

I am going to be in the market for a cable card tuner in the next two months so this is good news for me. Questions is $249 for 3 tuners or $400 for 4 tuners with the Ceton. Might end getting two of them if I can successfully implement the hack to allow more than 4 tuners.

Thought I would share the news with the [H].

I will be in for 1 for damn sure if someone can make these things work with SageTV.. Hell I would be at 350, so 250 sounds like a real nice price.

They should be able to work with quite a few front ends. I think they have been working with mythtv developers to have it work there along with Windows MCE.

Problem still remains though that without DRM its not supposed to be compatible.. & since the only one with a real drm currently is MCE everyone else is still SOL.. Not saying someone wont find a way around it, but until then I am just gonna wait anxiously

The deciding factor for me will be if SageTV supports the tuners. If so, HDHomerun Prime... here I come :) I'll finally be able to drop the old analog tuners I still use, doesn't require internal slots, and $250 is a lot easier to swallow than $400. One Prime and one standard HDHomeRun should give me all the recording tuners I need.

I loved my HDHomeRun. Too bad Comcast screwed me over and encrypted everything before this came out. I ended up selling my media PC and getting a Tvio -- I would have much rather used MCE.
