K well ive been getting a clicking sound, guess it was the click of death. Yesterday my computer shutdown, like 8 times, just randomly. Now i cant reboot it, while the drive is plugged in. Im thinking of returning it, but is it posible that its not dead, or is there any chance i could get my files off of it?

Can't reboot as in the OS doesn't come back up, or can't reboot in that the machine freezes or comes back to a black screen? Major differences here. Post your system specs and those of your PSU.

Well, when it gets to the screen, where u can push del to enter bios screen or whatever or just let it go, it trys to detect the hard drives, but it just stops, and hangs at "detecting IDE drives". And it has worked ok for awhile (5 months) so i dont think the psu could be the prob, even tho im switching in my antec 430 tomorow. My motherboard is an A7N8X-deluxe, crappy 420 turbolink (i know..) 1 80gig, 1 160gig, 48x cdrw barton 2500, 9800pro. Any help would be good thanks.

Check your cabling and jumpers just to be sure. If you can keep the drive up for a while run the manufacturer diagnostic utility. Then swap the PSU out like you plan and see if there's an improvement, but I doubt there will be one. When drives fail to come up in the BIOS it's a bad, bad sign, especially on reboots (on a cold boot these things can happen because of power issues due to the large draw on powerup/spinup, but on a warm reboot that huge draw isn't there). If it's still failing, try using the drive in another machine and see what happens.
