i'm not sure i am understanding the difference exactly between the two...off course i assume the HD has a better sound quality, but i could not never figure out how to get it to work.....
can someone explain this to me?
i have in my case two front panel connectors..... one for HD and one for AC97, if i connect the HD to my Mobo (DS3 3.3) then no sound from the front ports. if i conncet the AC cable they work perfectly...although i thought the sound card on the mobo was HD...you see i am confused about this......
