Ok I have a HDTV thats supports resolutions up to 1080i, which are a lot higher than my computer monitor can handle. The only problem is the only way to get those HD resolutions would be to buy an HDMI to DVI (male) cable. I saw some cheap ones on newegg, but I don't know which one to buy. It seems to me that some DVI ends are missing a few pins. What kind of cable would I need for those high resolutions? Please post links too. :)
 
Native 1080i, which is actually 1920x1080 (in pc terms) has to be supported by your video card. Just set that resolution on you 6800gt and it will be fine.

The DVI or HDMI cable has nothing to do with it.

BTW what brand/model is your HDTV?

One more thing if your HDTV is CRT, DO NOT USE THIS CABLE as it only supports digital DVI-D single link.
