This is just a story of some issues I found myself in the last couple days and hopefully tonight are resolved.
The last few days playing Skyrim, it would cause my computer to CTBSOD (Crash To BSOD). For a while I couldn't figure out what was up. Figured a horrible mod conflict.
Took me a bit to consider overheating. Why? I put 33 carefree hours into my character before modding. BSODs happened after some heavy modding.
Checked speedfan and had it log my temperatures while I was playing Skyrim, it was showing an idle temp of 50C. Yikes.
Highest it logged was 63C.
Google I go.
Read up in another forum about the 6950s increasing in temp with a second monitor plugged into them. Got me thinking, I have my TV in the DVI slot and duplicating my monitor so I can watch movies. No DVD player and my XBox just red ringed two days ago.
So figured what the snot, unplugged. Almost instantly my speedfan temps went from 50-53C idling, to its current temps right now at 35C idling. Suppose I'll turn my case fans back down now too.
Has anyone else experienced a similar situation?
