currently running 2 of these in CF

whats a good single card upgrade from these ?

also what other cards can compete with the 6870 in CF

Neither of those cards would be an upgrade in any way over 6870 Crossfire, unless you were going to get 2 6970s.

You'll have to wait until the 6990, even then, it might not be much faster than what you have now.
