I have a HD6790 and 5 monitors, the 6790 has 2 DVI ports on dual Dvi, two mini DVI and one HDMI. I need too hook 5monitorfor work not gaming. Can I do it with this card by using the DVI dual link for 2 monitors, one monitor on DVI port, one monitor on HDMI port and on monitoron a mini DVI port?

Yeah I seen that read. You know of any vid cards that can do 5 monitors? What if I add a second vid card in? I was thinking one DVI will do 2 monitors. Then there is 3 more DVI which each is a single and one HDMI So If the HDMI takes over a DVI I should get 5 monitors, maybe? More than likely not.

if its for work what kind of work and does your motherboard have onboard graphics I know its sounds lame but most desktop applications run just fine on integrated graphics.

if not two graphics card can run at the same time.

7970 plus 5870 with 6 monitors attached at the moment.

The system is a dell with built in graphic card. Im a network admin so I need the monitors for keeping up monitors and for watching client login through my Citirx Gateways plus all my Hyper-V stuff.

I'm hoping I can use the buil in card along with the add in card but I think when you add a card in it disables the built in card. I won't know till I get the new Workstation, which is on its way.
