Hi, I thought I would have a look at a overclocking my 5970, and limited myself to a 1.125 voltage for now. I was aiming for around 850 core, and to see how high i could get the memory.
I am able to overclock the core alone to 870 before i decided to look at the memory, and then, with the core reset, was able to get the memory to 1200 before i thought i'd look into how overclocking both at the same time would fare.
I was always under the impression that a stable core plus a stable memory would be roughly stable when together, but with the memory at 1200 and then the core just at 750 it would lockup almost immediately when starting a furmark.
I am new at overclocking graphics cards, and have only overclocked one other, so was just looking for an explanation for this big difference in stability.....Do I also need to raise the memory voltage to overclock both? In that case would the memory temperature be the 3 'other' gpu temps listed in GPU-Z listed before the VDDC phase temps?
Nice one

Asus P6td deluxe
Corsair 750TX (could this be an issue?)
