Just recieved this card as a christmas gift, installed it, installed the drivers. Not really sure what is going on with it, I'm getting distortion and artifacts in world of warcraft.

Not sure how to tell the temps that I am getting.

well this is the only game i really play, and it was fine before i installed

That's generally normal. Screenshot of said artifacting? OCing? Other system specs?

I just switched pci-e slots, ill post screens if it happens again. im waiting for something to go wrong :p no overclocking (it's a dell xps), q6600 cpu, 4 GB ram

I don't own an ATI card but my friend does, if you went from an NV card to an ATI make sure you use a special program to really wipe the old gpu drivers, and make sure you have the newest microsoft.net frameworks. Anyways good luck with your new card maybe it just didn't like that pci slot.

Try running something like ATI Tray Tools' Artifact Tester and see how many artifacts you get.
