HD 2900XT Heat Issues?

I really need a new videocard. My X1800XT has been artifacting for months and needs replacing.

I would like to get an 2900XT and eventually a second one and crossfire them. What worries me is heat. I have a Core2Duo E6600 @ 3.4 Ghz and I'd like to keep the overclock that high. I am concerned this card puts out too much heat and it will make my system unstable.

I have heard mixed things about the heat and this card.

I have a Silverstone TJ07 case with lots of fans, but no side fan for the video card. I might get a 120mm front intake fan to use as either an intake or exhaust for the video card.

Is the heat from this card manageable or is it going to mess up my system?
 
What are you CPU loads temperatures?

The heat from the card shouldn't make your CPU that much hotter, so I would have to say, no, I do not think that the heat being put off from this card will mess up your overclock.

But, I would personally buy an 8800GTS.
And if you have the money to CrossFire, 8800GTX.
 
My crossfire set up hasn't effected my CPU temp, even under heavy load. The 2900XT does a good job of venting it's heat out of the rear of the case. Just dont crawl under your desk and put your hand against the back of it while you are playing games and you will be fine.
 
the hd 2900 will move the air through tis heatsink and out the back of the case . If you can add a side duct to your system .

Sorry to say but if u run sli or crossfire your going to want more cooling . The x2900xt runs hotter than the geforce 8800 series but its not all that great of a diffrence

My temps are like in the upper 40's under dual instances of prime. It sometimes gets to like 50. I'm using the Tuniq Tower 120.

I was thinking about adding a scythe kama bay in the front as an intake to blow air fresh air to the video card, then that air would go through the video card fan and out the back.
