That particular card has always had problems with the Call of Duty series, but I'd have thought that they'd have addressed it somehow in CoD4. There's also been some random threads regarding problems with the game and dual core processors, but I'm not sure I put a whole lot of stock in that...most of the problems I've seen have been video card or chipset driver related.

There's a few things you can check out...things that are universal to diagnosing performance issues. You didn't mention which OS you were running, but Vista can cause some problems with performance in games that are graphically intense. I'd make sure that you've got all unnecessary processes and programs disabled no matter what your OS is. Also, make sure that you're running the newest drivers for the card and for your motherboard--that can make a HUGE difference in gameplay. The real kicker will be the new card...if you still have the problem after getting another video card, and there's no other games with with same problem, then you can narrow down the scope of your problem by process of elimination.

I'll keep my eyes open for a potential fix for your problem, and if you find out a solution, please do post it on here. I'm sure it's not the last time I'll hear of it.
