I have three 9600gt's one superclocked and two overclocked..

all drivers are up to date including ym 780i mobo driver..

issue im having is for it to allow me to run SLI on one superclocked and overclocked card.. and use the other oc'ed card to be my physx card..... in my nvidia system panel all i have are these options...

Do you have the SLI bridge connected to the two cards you're trying to SLI?

What does Device Manager show for the other two display adapters?
Also go to nVidia Control Panel and click the System Information on the lower left corner to see what the drivers see as your display adapters.

At least both Device Manager and the drivers correctly ID the cards.
Have you tried to specify the intended card for PhysX by going to Start/Programs/Nvidia Corporation/Nvidia PhysX Properties?

I'd try setting up SLI on two cards with the third removed. Specify one as the PhysX card and then shutdown add the third and see if anything changed to allow the three to run as you wanted.

I know 9600 GTs can't Tri-SLI, but don't know why it's disabling the SLI choice for two when a third is added.

Not sure how active their forums are, but you might try posting at nVidia's forums
Or try emailing XFX's support. Maybe it's a problem they've seen and know a workaround?

will do thanks!

For those of you too lazy to read it all.. the issue is supposedly being caused by all three cards being the same (all are 9600gt's) apparently this is a common issue and the easiest way to solve it is by getting another card to replace the third (non sli-ed) card.

that means any other card than a 9600gt.

XFX tells me to remove the card im trying to physx (third non sli-ed card) and then try to set up the two in slots one and three as sli... turning the system off and adding in the third to designate it as a PhysX card...

this is the same procedure some of you have told me to try... ill give that a whirl... but if not seems as though the nForum is correct in the fact that you cannot use three of the same card to run two in SLI and one in PhysX.

I don't know if this will help but I remember reading someone post a problem with a non-sli set up and the 2nd card not being able to be designated as the physx card. If I remember correctly, the fix was that the person had to run the dvi out on the 2nd card to the monitor and the monitor had to have a 2nd dedicated input;hdmi/dvi/etc. do you have the 3rd card connected to your monitor?

edit- and just fyi, i belive the sli cards have to be the same clock/memory speed, to run in sli..you posted that u have one sli card that is superclocked

yes it is.. and you do not... i have had a stock and oced card run perfect in sli (also tigerdirect reviews say you can do so)

and no the third card that is designated for PhysX is not hooked up to a monitor... the cards in SLI are...

one to my samsung monitor and the other to my starlogic monitor.

I think that the faster of the 2 cards will down clock to the slowest cards speed though so they will run in synch....use riva tuner and correct me if I am wrong..I found a forum that posts on how to get physx working with a 1 and 2 monitor set up...The guy did post about having the physx card dvi cable connected to a monitor to enable physx to work. good luck
