Hey guys... on my new setup (see signature below) I'm having some trouble installing windows. Everytime the comp boots up (with the windows cd in it) I get this error message.

PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-MUF: Exiting NVIDIA Boot Agent.

PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable
PXE-MUF: Exiting NVIDIA Boot Agent.
DISK BOOT FAILURE INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER

It seems that all the cables are plugged in correctly... can anyone help?

Not familliar with that error message but Im betting that you do not have the boot order for the hard drive & cdrom set up right in the BIOS

I switched the boot order to CD rom first.

Now it just says "Disk Boot Failure Insert System Disk and Press Enter" alone.

also in the BIOS its not showing my hard drive

Its like "IDE Channel 0 Master [none]"
and so on

if you have a spare IDE cable anywhere, try a different one than the one that you have connecting the hard drvie to the mobo. If that doesnt work, try connectiong the hd to where the CD drive is connected. It may be a faulty cable or IDE port. HOpe this helps

If the WD HD is on the primary IDE cable alone, take the jumper OFF to set it properly.

I would set up the secondary IDE cable as follows:

MOBO ==> NEC DVD R/RW ==> CD R/RW Drive...
then set the NEC DVD jumper as slave and the CDRW jumper as master.

nevermind guys! i got it fixed... it works great now... you know how i know? i'm using it now.
