well i've got a fairly old system and i wanted to break the 3.0 ghz mark. I've just started o/cing and can't seem to get a stable 3.0 gigahertz mark
here are the system specs:
p4B (yeah i know
) 2.4@2.9
512mb corsair xms 3200
abit is7
antec true 430
and the rest of the system i think has nothing to do with the overclocking.
Now in the bios setting the vcore is set to 1.6v, and the ram voltage is set to 2.8v
Memory timings are 2.5/3/3/7
now when i up the fsb to hit 3 gigahertz, prime becomes unstable. Even when i upped the vcore to 1.75, prime would run a little longer, but will eventually report an error.
Could it be one of my settings in bios? Or is it just the chip not being able to do it? Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
