Having trouble getting my pc wireless 360 controller working

just got it in the mail i put the battery pack in and then hooked the sensor into a usb slot the controller trys to sync with the sensor but the sensor isnt coming on. is there anywhere i can get drivers for the controller? thanks!
 
thats what i thought it was but apparently not i installed the drivers but the sensor light still isnt coming on. i contacted the store where i bought it from and they said they would ship another sensor out to me asap so i guess it was defect
