NETWORK PROs/GURUS/HACKERS.. please help me out on this one..
I can't access shared folders that are in my "netddos-pc".
Rest of my computers are able to access it just fine....but my laptop "vaio-txn25" refuses to do so.
i try "Add Network Place Wizard" and manually put my network address "\\netddos-pc\xxxxxx" and after 3 mins or so...a window pops up requesting a login information...
i didn't put any access constraints so i'm perplexed as to why it is asking login information such as username and password..
the laptop is able to surf the net just fine..it even can access NAS HDD just fine..
it can even share folders to other computers on the network as well...
why can't i access the networked folder that's on "netddos-pc"?
any idea..:*(
is there a software that lets you share over the network? i'm fed up with windows buggy network sharing software..
the laptop (vaio-txn25) can access shared folders from windows xp installed desktop(media-center) ...but not from vista installed one..
when i go to "workgroup" section from my laptop..it shows the list of all computers that are connected to the router..
here is the list of computers i see on my network
"Media-Center" (windows xp installed) --desktop
"Netddos-pc" (vista installed) -- desktop
"Vaio-txn25" (windows xp installed) ---- laptop
0------------------------------------------
even if i go by the ip address of "netddos-pc" it still asks for the same damn login info...why is it asking for login info for access "netddos-pc" when i never passwordize ANYTHING...wtf!
"netddos-pc" 192.168.1.100
"vaio-txn25" 192.168.1.102
"media-center" 192.168.1.103
they are assigned by DHCP...but i used a sticky ip function where it won't lose ip after its lease time..
when i share folders on my laptop...other computers (including "netddos-pc" can access it just fine..)
this is SO weird..i've never had this happened before...sigh!!! about to pull my hair out right now..

this is what i get from typing net view from my LAPTOP
Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
