I cannot browse my desktops files from my laptop because I am prompted to enter a username and password for the pc. The thing is, I don't have a password for my user account. I tried leaving it blank, snd it doesn't work. What is the work around. I would like to keep the login prompt, just to keep people out if possible. But if there isn't a simple solution, I can just disable the password prompt.

I'm guessing you're using Vista, as this was a similar hump I had to work through. I can't remember the exact steps, but there's a way to allow access to your network without requiring a password. I think if you can allow "Guests" and/or "Everyone" to see your files, there won't be a password needed.
