Having problems with comp, not sure where to post this

Ok i have recently built my comp about a month ago and in the past 2-3 weeks i have been having a lot of trouble with my computer crashing. I will be playing a game, any game and after a while my computer just up and restarts. no error msg, nothing. I ran asus probe and monitered the temp before it crashed and hottest the cpu got was 48 C and MB was 28C. Also, ive used the official AND beta drivers and the problem still occurs, and before u ask i did run driver cleaner pro and used it properly each time (safe mode, etc). the problem has even occured once while i was just browsing the internet, needless to say very freaking annoying. need help, thx. Here are sys specs :
Asus A8N-SLI with 1001 bios
PCP&P SLI PSU
AMD Athlon fx-55 2.6 stock
2 6800 geforce ultras
300gb HD
2 512MB corsair 500mhz

im stumped here and im no computer genius, need some help, thx in advance
 
ok you have two very hot gpus in an inclosed case - pop it open and see if that helps - if so you have a vid card heat issue -
double check the heatsinks on the 6800's make sure they are IN contact with the gpu (happens) NOTE: to not put pressure on/carry card by the heatsink - you can damage the graphics core. Always carry by the edges of the card...
double check the seating of the cards - heck swap them (odd thing is - had this happen with cpus not gpus - one may be better at being in the first slot that the other...)
double check all fans - make sure they are running and set correctly for good air flow.
double check the power supply's rails via monitoring software - see if the rails are not stable
memory issues can also mimic this problem try memtest on your memory.
make sure the cabling to your monitor is seated properly and the games are running in a monitor supported resolution.
Adding fans will help with it if it is a heat issue - one suggestion - the card cooler (google it)
works well. or merely add fans if you have empty slots for them - properly tho with the correct airflow as just adding fans can cause major headaches if not blowing the right way.

well ive been out of town, got back a couple days ago and tried everything you told me to. i swapped the mem and gpu's, i monitored the ASUS Probe utility, the rails are all OK, everything is normal and the heat is well below threshhold. also to be sure, i ran a fan on full power right next the the open case, my room is air conditioned, i know that heat is not the issue. im thinking maybe since you said you can damage the gpus if you handle by the heat sink, i remember when putting it in i messed with the heat sink a lot, i sure hope i didnt damage it. if so, is it possible to swap under warranty ? anyways, i need some more suggestions, cuz im no computer tech obviously and beyond getting on my nerves
 
oh and btw when the comp restarts, microsoft error report pops up and shows that the system has recovered from a serious error and has following signature :C:\DOCUME~1\ERICGI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER7d72.dir00\Mini052705-01.dmp
C:\DOCUME~1\ERICGI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER7d72.dir00\sysdata.xml

so what the hell does all that mean

For the error report, check your event viewer:>>> right click My Computer>>Manage and then expand the Event Viewer in the left pane. Click on Application and you will see Information messages in the right pane. Look for ones with a red X. Right click on any message and choose Properties.
Review the message and search the Microsoft Knowledge Base for further information here: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/support/xpevnt.mspx
Whenever windows crashes, it writes a system event and a minidump, looks like it did there, so go check your system event log.
