I reformatted windows and setup my RAID 0 with my x2 36GB raptors. I checked my BIOS and everything was detected (x2 raptors and my 160GB HD) but when I hit windows after installing my drivers, I checked my computer it wasn't there so I checked Disk Management...nothing. I thought it may be a cable issue so I switched out the sata power connector and the SATA cable, rebooted...still detected in BIOS but not in windows. I looked and made sure all the IDE controllers, SATA, etc were enabled in the BIOS...still nothing. When I booted up windows my hard drive was detected as a removable device. I'm completely stumped to what the heck is going on. I even loaded up the nvidia raid array software and it detects my 160GB HD as a free disk...so what the hell is up with windows :(

So you have it, but it is removable? That is normal when you are using the nVidia SATA driver.
 
Mine did this, I had to use Partition Magic to format the dang thing before it showed up in Windows.
 
could it be related to the fact that you are running the nVidia RAID driver and have a single drive? Maybe you can create a single disk JBOD or a RAID-0 or RAID-1 array with just a single disk. After all, nVidia says "do not use the RAID driver with disks not in an array".
 
Well the drivers shouldn't effect non-raid arrays should it? I have a RAID 0 setup...hmmm I'll try partition magic, where can I get that?
