I have Win7 on my HTPC and I am trying to rip my DVD collection to my other computer, which is also running Win7. I am using DVD Decrypter to rip the main movie to a .VOB file. However, when I try to play it WMC says it can't access the file and that it's in use but it's not. This is the first movie I have tried to rip this way. Everything else is encoded and is working fine.

I thought that VOB support was native in Win7 MC. Am I missing something? Help me out here.

Support is native. Are you trying to play it through the Video gallery rather than the movie gallery?

Yep, just gave it a shot and they work through the regular movie gallery but they look like crap.

they shouldnt look like crap...

what did you install? codec wise....

I think we're on the same track here. Under the misdirection of someone else I installed the Shark 007 codec pack. I'm installing CCleaner right now to remove the damn thing. I think the issue is with a codec as they look like a DVD when I'm playing them on my main computer but look like crap on the HTPC, and I don't think it's the TV either. Just removed it and it still looks the same. Perhaps I need to try a reboot.

EDIT: Just installed MPC Home Cinema and it looks like it should. So, there's something up in Media Center that makes it looks like crap. Any idea?

? DVDs aren't exactly HD. They don't look that great.

Still, they don't look this bad. It's very odd. Fast moving objects look almost like they're cell shaded.
