Trying to install ESXi to a USB drive.

I get through the installer, it say it completed successfully and that i should remove installation media and reboot.

I do.

It starts to boot...../s.v00 file not found

What does that mean and how do i fix it?

No I downloaded it from VMware (twice) and both times the MD5s & SHA1's matched

Have you tried another usb drive or a different motherboard? I've noticed certain usb drives misbehaving w/ certain motherboards. Also, I'd nuke the drive with a complete format and delete the partition just in case. I don't know if you burned the iso to cd but unetbootin easily creates a bootable esxi5 usb drive. Good luck.
