I have two Sapphire 7970 OC (11197-01-40G), and want a third card. It needs to beable to fit a waterblock as well. What cards currently available will fit my needs? I've looked around and there is a XFX Radeon Double D HD 7970 GHz Edition FX797GTDFC, will this work? Is this a decent card? I'm kind of weary of XFX for some reason.

Thanks

go for a diamond reference HD 7970. its a beast under water cooling. most of these diamond cards easily do 1.2+ ghz.

Unfortunately, there are no waterblocks that fit that card :/. You can use the ek configurator (http://www.coolingconfigurator.com/) to see if a waterblock is available. Also, I think the only PCBs version that are reference and have support for waterblocks (other than the Asus DCUII) is 109-C38637-00.

Here's a list I made of reference cards. I have a 7970 coming tomorrow and I'm looking for a second (potentially a third later) for crossfire --
Sapphire Radeon HD 7970 OC Dual-X 3GB GDDR5 (11197-01-40G) -- Got this one coming (I see you have 2 :))
Diamond Radeon HD 7970 3GB GDDR5 (7970PE53G)
Gigabyte Radeon HD 7970 OC 3GB GDDR5 (GV-R797OC-3GD rev.1.0 ONLY)
HIS Radeon HD 7970 3GB GDDR5 (H797F3G2M)
HIS Radeon HD 7970 IceQ X2 3GB GDDR5 (H797QM3G2M)
MSI R7970-2PMD3GD5/OC

They all seem to overclock nicely and seem to work well with the GHz edition bios.

XFX, while they offer an awesome lifetime warranty, change/update their pcbs quite often making watercooling impossible for later batches. I tend to stay away myself :p
