I having a problem with the game "Lost Planet" the DX10 version.
At first, it says that some DLL file is missing, so I downloaded it from a site. Then it says that other file is missing: "d3dx10_33" and I don't found it in the net.
Maybe I need to install the DX10? I have 8800GTS 320MB with the driver FireWire, the newest version.
Need Help please.

is the game any good?

I heard it looks pretty crappy and was a disappointment..

I thought it was fun and looked awesome. Been comparing it to the 360's demo, they are similiar, but not exactly the same, course you can run the pc version at higher res. Graphics are awesome, gameplay is probably as good as Q4, or Prey, but so far no crashes, fast and smooth.

Yes, update your DX runtime and you should be ok.

I like the game, but started having problems when I upgraded to an 8800 Ultra. I Vista with a 7950GX2, the DX9 version actually ran stabily. The upgrade to the Ultra definitely speeded things up, but now both the DX 9 and 10 versions BSOD.

This game has sold a million copies on the 360 since it was release for it in January, so somebody must like it.

I like it so far. The DX10 version with the Ultra runs pretty well, of course until it crashes, and is my kind of game. Run, shoot kill. The graphics are as good as anything on a PC, other than not supporting resolutions like 1650x1080. You'll need a beefy rig to run it at those kinds of resolutions and above in DX10 however.

On a scale of 1 - 10, at least a 7. I just hope that its stable for me when released!

Maybe you could try the 160.03 driver, seems most crashes in vista are the VC drivers, but seeing how most computers are different just because it works for me, doesnt really mean that it will work for you. Hell, i even got Toca Race Driver 3 working in vista, and that seems to be a incompatible game for vista.

nope, seems there is no update for DX10 like DX9. plus i havent seen directx updates in windows updates even on winxp.

This update isn't part of Windows Update?

Uh, you two know it's the April's SDK, right? SDK, as in, Software Development Kit?

It includes the end-user runtime, but it includes a whole lot more than what 'Dick and Jane' are going to need when Dx10 titles arrive. By then it will probably be pushed out through Windows Update service, updated beyond April of course. .

I said that in one of my first post to this thread. but i needed to download that, and run it to get the demo to run, seems i am not alone, would be nice of MS to just give us a DX10 web update, I mean they have it, its in the SDK.

I had the same Problem and download the DX SDK and Lost Planet DX10 Demo ran just fine with all it's Glory. Mighty Impressed so Far.
Games Currently Running without Problems: "Midtown Madness2", "Need For Speed:Carbon", "Flight Sim X", "Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion", "Lost Planet DX10 Demo". Quite a Difference in Game Engines, and Still Stable!

It's an arcade shoot-em up with insane eyecandy if you have a beefy system...

I showed a few people and they were blown away. They all agreed it was the best looking game they have ever seen...

I don't really think it's THAT good, but that's what people who have been playing Gears of War say.

You need to download the April 2007 sdk from microsoft. It updates DX9 and DX10 files from vista. Worked for me also I download the 160.03 beta driver from guru3d for my 8800 and it was very stable played for 4 hours and left it run all night in test mode, no crashes yet.

that's the wrong one. You don't need the developer software kit. Just the regular DX update. It's alot smaller download.

Yeah I was going to say, crikey, you dont need the SDK at all, thats for developers.

Just download the April release of DX9.0c it contains all the files you need and is only a few Mb large rather than ~440Mb
