Heyas. I was thinking about my case and how scratched up it was. I travel with it very frequently, maybe 1-2 times a week. It gets its wear and tear but I want it to look cool all the while.

I had been thinking of repainting it to get rid of all the scratches, but then realized that it would just get scratched up again in the next few months of trahsporting it around. So this idea popped into my head. What if I got the exterior coated with rhino-lining? I figure it would not only look badass but also protect the finish being so durable. Anyone have any experience with this type of thing? I'm really considering doing it ASAP as I'm not sure if anyone else has done this yet. Any input would be great! Thanks.
 
Rhino Lining is like...1/4 or 1/2 inch thick, I can't remember. BUT, I bet that if you took it there they could get it to work....that would look pretty badass IMO. You would need to use longer screws some places though....
 
the only problem i think you would have is the weight of the sucker afterwards!
 
Anyone have some pics ofa case with rhino lining? Or is this a first?
 
I'm going to give the local dealer a call or visit this weekend. Hopefully they can accomodate this. I'm wondering how much it's going to cost. I'll bet they will be able to spray it very thin for me if I ask. I only want it to be like a coat of paint so I don't get much extra weight or have to use long screws for the fans and the such. It would be cool to see someone else's case like this, but I've never heard of it being done.
 
You can buy do it yourself kits that have the stuff in a spray can - this might be an option so you could put it on thinner. This sounds like a really neat idea, can't wait to see it finished!
 
This is a good idea and I hope this information will help. Rhino Liner is a brand and differes from other brands. Rhino liner has a tendency to be sprayed thicker and also has a slicker finish...ie more like the hard plastic bedliners only permanent. It also is pretty has a pretty dull finish. Now, I prefer LineX. I it sprayed at high psi and thinner coats, this may be more to your liking. It also has a better texture and stays shiny. Both brands now offer different colors as well.

Thanks for the responses. So I'm guessing if it comes in a can, I can probably pick some up at say home depot or an auto supply store? I think I'd rather do it myself than having to pay for the labor (DIY FTW). I'll also check into that LineX stuff as well. I was hoping to have a rugged look to it and also have it a little shiny. I don't want it glaring with gloss, but a little shine wouldn't hurt so its not just flat black. I'll be searching around the web for a bit then heading down to home depot and a few others stores in search of something to use. Thanks for the ideas.
 
Ruberized undercoating in a spraycan goes on much more thin, just be sure the crap has something to stick to (wont stick to shiney smooth paint very well).
