Ok...ive been trying to over clock this computer all night long....but it seems that this happens:

It is perfectly stable at 3.04ghz (original 2.8) FSB: 215 Multi: 14 (locked)
But the highest i can get it too is 220mhz...but its finiky in windows (Even with a voltage bump on the CPU)
At 226mhz it hangs in the bios

Ram is 1:1 with CPU

Heres the Rig in question:

DFI Lanparty Pro 875B mobo
2.8C northwood P4
XP 90 HSF
2 x 512 Crucial Ballistix DDR500 (dual channel)
550w Antec PSU (has very good amps on the 12v rails)

My temps at 3.04Ghz are IDLE: 27C and LOAD: 36 tops with Orthos Torture test
Im guessing its not temps that are the problem

Did i hit a FSB wall with my mobo?

If any of the [H] crew could help me to OC this thing i would like that alot....Im aiming for 3.2Ghz (229 x 14)

Thanks in advance, Harley

she's alreaay at oop speed capin, she caan'[t] take any more!

don't bump the voltage of that northwood to high, at 1.7V many come down with SNDS, thats "sudden northwood death syndrome".

I hope shes not at top speed :(

As for the voltage...i only bumped it up one notch...i think it was from 1.5 to 1.55

This board could crispy fry the northwood....i think it goes to like 1.8 :eek:

But...im hoping that somebody could tell me if ive done something.....or havent done something at that

i think intel tried to release a 3.0GHz SKU, and i think its yield was somewhere in the area of 50% (really really bad), so in other words, you are at top speed i think. give the NB voltage a little bit of a bump.

hmmm...i dont think this board has a northbridge voltage minipulator.....im going to restart and check for sure and report back in a few.

Thanks for that idea:)

EDIT: Nope...no NB voltage modifier...

and the CPU volts can go clear up to 1.95 :eek:
Ram can go to 2.9....but its already at 2.6 (rated volts....)

EDIT # 2....would i have better luck with a Prescott?
