Ok so long story short i was going to make a S.F.F. N.A.S. using a jetway 1ghz mini-ITX board and some port multipliers, etc etc etc.. that didnt work out so i ended up building a 4TB server. So now i have this hardware sitting around and i already started modding the SGI 02 case to go with it but I don't have a need for a lower powered computer. I don't want to ebay the parts, and I would like to finish the case but need ideas for this computer to be useful. My main monitor is a 30" apple from back in the day and i would rather not buy a KVM that works at res's up to 2560 x 1600 so using this other pc as a daily slave to check email, browse the web, etc isn't a good option either. I need an idea for a standalone box that doesn't need a bunch of processing power...

I will need another media center for the bedroom eventually but this probably won't be strong enough to power 1080p h.264 MKV files so thats another project. Just wondering if any of you have had this problem and have a good idea for me. I have a powerful main PC i use for the daily crap/gaming, a server, and a media center so those are out.

Any help is appreciated. If all else fails my fallback is keep the case, sell the hardware and cram in more powerful hardware to make the bedroom media center, but thats a last resort. I actually have two 02 cases so i could do that later on without wasting this hardware anyways.

should be overkill for that.
 
Unless you need a firewall or router PC, I would sell it. That type of hardware has limited use, so if you don't need it anymore, there's little reason to keep it aside from sentimentality.
