Ok so here is the current specs:
M7NCD nForce2 MOBO Generic Brand
AMD 3000XP+
Micron 512 PC3200 RAM
X800pro
WD 120Gig HDD

well you get the idea

my main problem with this current setup is everything is nice except the bargain bin MOBO (its not quite giving me the performance im wanting) which I'm thinking of replacing or just switching over to an intel MOBO and processor.

Any Suggestions?
 
How much you looking to spend and are you wanting to OC at all? Asus A7N8X, Abit AN7 or NF7, DFI Infinity or lanparty are all very nice nforce 2 boards.
