ive just received the xr-55 today and a 10 inch jbl sub from j&rs today and im running my speakers i use for my tv until thursday when my x-ls come. currently from my x-fi ive got the standard size thing(headphone jack) and into my reciever ive got red and white rca cables and its analog. wonder if theres any way i can get digital out into my receiver? maybe from the fli jack or something.

If you do use digital, you will only get 5.1 sound from pre-encoded DTS/DD material like DVDs.
Everything else including games will be stereo.
FYI

Digital sounds way better as that receiver has a fine dac. Use this cable and set your x-fi to digital out via settings on the console launcher. For best sound in music use audio creation mode.

that sub is not my first choice but regardless that system is going to blow you away once it is running. good choice with the receiver and xls!

the subs great and i got it for like 175 off and free shipping so i couldnt pass it up. and thanks for the linky.

not dissing it at all. I just got a better sub/deal than anyone ever has! lol long story. congrats on getting a real stereo.

lol no. don't think so. they are expensive b/c not many are made. you could get a creative digital i/o module and use a cheap optical cable but I recommend getting the ram cable for best results.

i just placed my order for a 10ft one giving me 3 more ft to play with than my belkin ipod cable.
