Ok, I'm begging to think I got a bum card from hauppage. I've tried installing it on both of my machines (AMD64 3000+ with asus a8v-e and amd64 3200+ with asus nforce4sli, win xp sp2 both machines) and cannot get either machine to find the card in the device manager (and no new hardware wizard starts when I remove the card, reboot, then reboot with the card reinstalled) I've spent about 6 hours playing with different pci slots, irq settings, etc, and have had no luck with anything. About twice over the course of this process, i've seen an unknown device in device manager, but when I try to intall the hauppage drivers to this device, the comp reboots about 90 % thru the install process. I'm about ready to return the card, but I was just wondering if anyone else has had this sort of problem, or has any recommendations before I go thru the process of sending the thing back in.

go to a circuit city, frys, or best buy and buy another one. see if that one works, if it does, rma your current one. and return the store bought one.

thats what i would do, since its seems you tried all options already.

what about popping the disk in and autoplay and install drivers? Or read the manual, i know i never read the manual and after reading it, the answer is right there.

1.) Where did you buy if from and 2.) Shoot an email over to Hauppauge about it and they should RMA it (they did the last time I've seen this happen).

I bought it from pcalchemy as part of a bundle. I shot their service department an e-mail explaining the problem last night. If I don't get a response in the next few days, I'll return it.
