Well last night, my wife tells me she was under a Tornado Warning till 9pm (2 touched down in DFW area) and a severe thunderstorm warning till midnight.

Sometime in the middle of the night, I'm pretty confident the power went out. I am in Minneapolis (heading back tonight assuming more thunderstorms don't prevent that) and when I get home I'll bring my boxen back to life.

I think one box is up. The other two are dead (not visible via logmein.com). I have got to figure out how to set in bios to boot if there is power. And I really need to figure out some sort of UPS solution for all of my boxes.

Most BIOS' have a "When AC power is restored" option that you can set to power back on. UPS' are nice, but they are typically not meant to be able to power your boxen during outages. They are more so you can shut them down safely. And if you want them to run all your devices you will either need a big one for each box or a huge one for all of them depending on your setup, even 20 minutes is a long time to power a device at full load...just my $0.02:D

UPS's will work wonderfully however if your power just blinks for a few seconds during a thunderstorm causing your boxen to be down for days while you are out of town. ;)
Some UPS's > No UPSs

My wife fired up my sig rig so at least I've got my two largest producers up and running again. My second biggest producer did come up this morning on its own. I just need to figure out the other one tonight when I get back.

I'm guilty of bein' one of the lazy ones too  I have a UPS on both my 24/7 crunchers so if the power don't go off for more than a couple of hours I'm cool

I've got to where I depend on my UPS when I do the musical Kill-o-Watt switch :p

Yea those storms last night were awful.
I could not sleep at all, now im draggin ass at work.

i get to try and fly home to it. supposedly not as bad as last night, but there have already been two ground stops today

I hear ya about the the weather. Living in Oklahoma, it happens all the time. I would have pulled my hair out keeping my boxen up and running as I travel a lot too, but I invested in some APC Backup 750's about a year ago. I can't count the number of times the power has blinked and they just keep on running. I have four of those things scattered throughout the house. Best money you can spend on your folding hobby.

well another victim of the storm was my DSL modem. get to spend tomorrow dealing that plus making up the 4 hours of work lost while trying to find another solution that wasn't going to take a week to get to me.
