Title says it all.. My "SIO Temperature" keeps getting 1-2 degrees out of line per the Intel desktop monitoring app. I told it to shut up, since I don't care about ocassionally going 1-2 degrees out of spec, but I would like to know what this refers to so perhaps I could rectify the issue. Is this something on-chip, or something on the board? Google tells me absolutely nothing. :D

The only reference I see is from an Intel datasheet referring to it as "Super I/O".

The motherboard reports the same temps (and set thereof) in the BIOS - the Intel app literally just reads the hardware sensors and shows them in Windows, so it's as reliable as the sensors..

Unless you mean using an infrared thermometer or something - which would require that I knew WTF SIO was in the first place, lol.

Honestly always read voltages through hardware, came into this thread and misread it thinking you were talking more about voltages but this app may be malfunctioning? Super input output (SIO) is what you're talking about...but I'm not familiar with that intel desktop monitoring software, so it could be anything. Post more info and some pictures. They use this terminology for multiple devices. In my opinion based on what you typed and the little info you provided, SIO Temperature would be the temp of the motherboard as per the software and the Super I/O (super input output) spec.
