Haswell-e vs 4960X

Hi Guys,

Can you please give me your thoughts on how much the upcoming Haswell-E cpus will improve gaming performance when compared to a 4960X liquid cooled and overclocked?

If it is negligible then I am going to pull the trigger on my new build.

I think it all deepens on if you can make good use of 16 threads instead of just 12.

As far as gaming performance. I would say this is unlikely. Since most games today do not even make good use of 4 threads.

Also what may be in the 4960x's favor is clock speed. With an 8-core part coming, may not be clocked as high (stock) as your 4960x. Waiting game for any reliable specs on haswell-e.
 
The real question right now is... is the extra cache on the 4960x worth the extra $400-$500 over the 4930k?

Seems like you could get a lot more for your money in other parts of your build.
