Has anyone read this article??

Not me, because I don't fit into this category:

"You see, although Windows Vista will be released later this year, most of the monitors on the market today lack the HDCP support needed for high-resolution playback of HD-DVD and Blu-Ray discs on your PC. In fact, there are only 12 monitors that we know of that support HDCP. In short, not only will you need to buy a new graphics card for Windows Vista, if you’d like full-resolution HD-DVD or Blu-Ray, you’ll also need a brand-new monitor. Because of this, at this point in time, we do not recommend purchasing a non-HDCP monitor......"

That's what my home theater is for.

If everyone boycotted HDCP then maybe they'd decide to get rid of it..besides, there's always a crack for something

So then this is only for playing back Blu-ray and HDDVD on the computer, that's it? It's not going to make you play all your games at 800 x 600 or something right??

Impossible. You have to realize that only people like 'us' (the people that hang out on forums such as these) have enough knowledge to know what this content protection is all about. The un-knowledgeable masses will buy into HDCP and their money is what will fuel it. Enthusiasts are a small market in comparison with how many people are going to be paying for the technology.
