The Tesselation is absolutely eye opening. Talk about making things look real. I love the ground textures that use this, they look almost photo-real. The previous STALKER games can look good with extra mods but they can't hold a candle to this.
I'm not disagreeing with you about this because I haven't seen Pripyat (or any game) running in DX11, since I don't have a DX11 card.
But I've heard other people say that you can't tell the difference between DX10 and DX11 in this game. You're saying that the difference is 'eye opening'.
I have to be a bit skeptical of statements like this. When Bioshock was released 2 years ago, I remember reading a thread at Gamespot's PC forum in which two people started raving on about how much better the game looked in DX10 mode - another person came into the thread and started talking about how his new DX10 card was on the way from Newegg and how he couldn't wait to launch Bioshock's DX10 mode. The discussion really made me want to buy a DX10 card.
When I finally did get a DX10 card I launched Bioshock right away to see the difference - the was none.
People said that the 'water effects' were better in DX10, but I still can't see it.
