has anyone gotten this plugin to work in gaim?

here is the plugin i am trying to get working.

maybe i am too much of a newb to gaim plugins and perl scripts in general, but from what i have read all that is needed to get perl plugins to work in gaim is to copy them to "~/.gaim/", and then load them in the plugins section of the preferences menu. i did this, however the plugin is not on the list. the plugin docs say it works with gaim >= 0.72. i was using gaim 0.75 and i actually went back to 0.72 in my efforts to get the plugin to work. anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Make a plugins directory under .gaim so that you have ~/.gaim/plugins/ and then copy your plugin there. Or if you have access to /usr, you can try copying the plugin to /usr/lib/gaim. btw, that link is a no go.

i have already tried making ~/.gaim/plugins and putting it in there and copying the plugin to (in my case) /usr/local/lib/gaim. i should have mentioned that in my original post, my apologies. and the link works for me, so idk whats up with that.
