Has anyone ever used this LCD?

Yeah, that would work fine with just about any program that supports the popular Hitachi HD44780 LCD controller. The 8-bit interface is also encouraging. It has a backlight, and an LED one at that--another plus. It won't fit in the average drive bay, but if you can take care of the size constraints, and can solder and follow instructions, this is a great LCD for the price.
 
As xonik said, it's compatible with most programs, check the Text LCD faq for programs that support it, and details on how to wire it up.

It's also a very nice deal, a very good price. If I didn't already have an LCD I'm fiddling around with I would probably buy that one.
