I’ve lurked around the forums a bit and have learned quite a lot, so first of all, I’d like to thank whomever is responsible for this great place. Now, to the business at hand. Within the next few days I’m going to be placing an order for a entirely new system and would like some of you folks (obviously more knowledgeable than a complete noob like myself), to look over the list and make sure I’ve made wise decisions.

First off, I won’t be doing any overclocking at the moment, but would like to in the future. I’ll be doing some light gaming, Jediknight II, KOTOR, etc., nothing too hardcore and not very often. I’ll also be doing some audio/video encoding as well.

Now, on to the parts:

Chaintech 5900XT (Thought about a 6800, but it would have gone to waste since I don't game as much anymore.)

Win XP Home (Any major differences between XP Home and XP Pro?)

Looks pretty good, I'd probably go with the Logitech Z2200 myself.

Looks nice but the Seagate HDs are a bit faster and reliable. As for the two questions, SATA has a 150mbps where as IDE goes up to 133 mbps. The major two differences between Home and Pro is that Pro supports two CPUs and that it is supposed to be easier to set it up on a network.
