Is this site any way asociated with hardforum? Ive noticed they have sub-sections matching exactly to what hardforum has, and they also seem to have archived every semi-decent thread... I figured this would have caused problems with copyright issues, or does this just fall under fair use?

Maybe im just a bit over-protective of my own ramblings, but it seems sad that they are profiting off others work.

looks the same, slightly different though.

still has "Copyright 2005-2006 Hardware Chat - all rights reserved." though....

notice the same categories on the left....even down to "Digital ArtwErk"

but as you say, "imitation blah blah blah..." :p

It's not surprising at all....many of the members present and past have gone on to open their own forums and tend to use this format for their model. :cool:
 
going into a random section on that website, then picking a thread, then searching for the title of that thread in our section found this:

Yup, I found a post made by me in the Apple section that is in THEIR forum!!

Looks like they somehow imported a buttload of forum threads from [H]ere and just posted them on their site. Weird.
 
I have been aware of this for a few weeks now as it was brought to my attention by one of our members. We are toying with the idea of sending the lawyers after them. But it is an obvious and flagrant violation of copyright.
