As for memory itself, 512MB (megabytes) of RAM would really be 512MiB (mebibytes) of RAM under the new IEC system.
And data bandwidth is pretty straightforward under the new IEC system (same as it is practiced): 300MB/s means 300 million bytes per second, while 384Kbps means 384 thousand bits per second.
