Harddrive is not being recognized =(

I tried switching the IDE spots.. I moved the harddrive on IDE2 and the CDRW/DVD ROM on IDE1.. Did that mess anything up because it is so much more effiecent for me and its closer to the hardware.. Any reaosn why it wouldn't be recognized other than the fact that its not installed properly?
